Your Response ΒΆ
3rd assignment β Bhagavad Gita
The first thought I have in writing is the importance of understanding that yogi must have a place physically and mentally where he can just be. π This just being is the middle of a hyperbolic seesaw. The purpose is for the yogi to achieve a floating mentally of the sharpe readings from the physical and emotional human experience reference. The yogi should cultivate a neutral space in the head and body where awareness and conscious can be more bare and showing.
In the second passage we talk about how a singular attention is necessary for yogic practice. once in the position of neutrality there are four phases of this awareness deep dive. 1. the bringing the consciousness within. 2. Mental retention of a singular object. 3. Leads into effortless contemplation. 4. The union. The ultimate goal for me is to blend my awareness with the greater awareness. The union is what I want.
Back to more positioning of the physical body, this next texts talks about two aspects. 1. Is the straight aligned spinal chord leads better flow of energy and elements with in the body. Also to gaze internally upwards leads to activation of third eye and more directed awareness flowing inward. π‘ Sitting in general can be uncomfortable for me so this can be challenging but the gazing upwards has proven to be quite an effective to tool to bring my attention inward.
In the next passage there is a lot to unpack. The withdrawal of the pursuit of fragmented desire seems to sum up the point. π These pursuits seem to stem from a place of fear or insecurity. This is all a product of a misconception. For if the beholder was to perceive reality as it was then he would see the unity of all things and acting out of self interest is going against truth.
π‘ I think there is definitely a balance here that should be discussed as not everyone shall just give up there posessions and be giving monks. I think there is something to say here about the expression of creativity and cultivation and creation of an idea and then subsequently the process of bringing that idea to life.
In the next passage we talk about how there is another reality, "the pristine self" that exists inside you that is accessible and is independent of earthly context. This creates a place in the yogi where he may go to, in order to be refufilled with the perspective of union. This is the overall goal for me. To find this place of fulfillment bliss and satisfaction within so my fears and insecurity melt away.
It is interesting to point out that in the pursuit of fragmented desire you are expressing your inner reality of insecurity and fear therefore making you even more separate from the truth. When you contain your connection with your pristine self and become aware of the places your thoughts and desires are coming from you consequently go to deeper and deep places and realize that fulfillment can come from with in.
π‘ My immediate and final reaction is that these last two pages directly speak to me on a deep level of where I want my path to lead. These can be a North Star for me. Thank you.
